The Role of Aquamiks in Colorado Chile’s Red Cusk Eel Project

In a recent interview, Piero Magnolfi Orsini, Founder and General Manager of Colorado Chile, spoke about the strategic collaboration with Aquamiks, particularly in optimising their farming systems. “In 2021, in collaboration with Aquamiks, we optimised the farming system, production, and juvenile quality,” stated Magnolfi Orsini. Through innovative strategies and hands-on collaboration, Aquamiks helped Colorado Chile shorten the production cycle for red cusk eel, achieving weaning in just 10-15 days. 

The hatchery has now achieved an impressive larval survival rate of 30-35%, a significant increase from previous figures. 

An important fact to underline is that the whole tutoring program conducted by Aquamiks was entirelly remote, allowing Aquamiks to reduce costs conected to travelling to such remote locations and having the time to respect biological processes.
